Broken Arrow Public Schools has announced the hiring of Meredith Dennis as Tigette head coach.

Dennis joins Broken Arrow from Davenport Central High School, where she has served as a Language Arts and Journalism teacher since 2017. She has also served as the head coach of the Davenport dance team, since 2008.

After enjoying a career as a collegiate dancer at Butler University from 2001 – 2005, Dennis graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts with a minor in Public Relations and Advertising. In 2016, she earned her Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education.

Coach Dennis has 11 ISDTA (Iowa State Dance Team Association) state championships under her direction and has had three top-five finishes at Dance Team Union High School Nationals.

“We are thrilled to introduce Meredith Dennis to our Tigette program and the BA Community,” said Executive Director of Athletics Dr. Dustin Smith. “The Tigettes are nationally known and a very tradition-rich program because of the efforts of Coach Meag Warren and her staff for the last 10 years. I look forward to seeing Coach Dennis build upon that incredible foundation and continue to showcase the Tigettes at the local, state and national levels.”

“I am so excited to be taking the helm of the Tigette program and become a part of the Broken Arrow Family,” said Dennis.  “It’s a new adventure for our family and we can’t think of a better place to be!”

Meredith and her husband, Robert, are the proud parents of daughter Rooney (age 12, 6th grade).

Tigette tryouts will be held April 10-13th for current 6th – 11th grade students. For more information visit www.batigettes.com or www.batigersports.com
