Mission and Core Values
Broken Arrow Tiger Athletics shares the philosophy of the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) in promoting “important education and cultural values, attitudes, appreciations and skills – including high standards of good sportsmanship and effective citizenship” for its student-athletes.
More than 1,600 students in grades 8 through 12 participate in the following competitive programs: basketball, cheer, cross country, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, track and field, wrestling, football, dance, fast pitch and slow pitch softball, and volleyball. Opportunities are also available for students to enroll in sports medicine or to serve as an athletic student-manager. Student-athletes at Broken Arrow High School and the Broken Arrow Freshman Academy are enrolled in a sixth period athletic class. Football, basketball and wrestling are offered as sixth hour courses in middle school.
To encourage an atmosphere of competition and excellence among student-athletes, athletic administrators established Tiger S.T.R.I.P.E.S., which stands for Service, Trust, Respect, Integrity, Positive Attitude, Excellence and Self-Discipline. This program strives to instill attributes within Broken Arrow athletes that go beyond the game.
